Cookies and Local Storage
Every cookie and browser value we set, what it is for, and how long it lasts. Advertising cookies are used on this site only, never on a restaurant's ordering page, and only if you accept them.

1. The short version
Two different pages, two different answers. On a restaurant's ordering page we set no advertising cookies and run no third-party trackers at all - only our own visit counter, and only if you accept it. On this site, where we advertise to restaurant owners, we also use Google and Meta advertising cookies to see which ads work, and those load only after you press Accept. Declining leaves nothing but the cookies that keep you signed in.
2. What we set
| Name | Type | What it does | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| ezorders_session | Cookie, essential | Keeps a restaurant owner or admin signed in. Signed and HTTP-only, so page scripts cannot read it. | 14 days |
| ezorders_customer | Cookie, essential | Keeps a customer signed in to a restaurant's ordering page, where they created an account. | 30 days |
| ezorders_consent | Cookie, essential | Remembers whether you accepted or declined the analytics value below, so you are not asked again. Records only which button you pressed. | 6 months |
| ezorders_theme | Cookie, preference | Remembers whether the dashboard is in light or dark mode. Absent means follow the device setting. | 1 year |
| ezorders_oauth_state | Cookie, essential | A short-lived value that proves a Google or Apple sign-in came back from where it was sent. Deleted as soon as sign-in finishes. | 10 minutes |
| Cart contents | Local storage | Your basket on a restaurant's page, so it survives a refresh. Never leaves your browser until you check out. | Until you clear it |
| Analytics visitor id | Local storage | A random value, different for every restaurant, that groups your page views into one visit. Not linked to your name, number, or orders. | Until you clear it |
| _ga, _ga_* | Cookie, advertising and measurement | Google Analytics. Measures how visitors reach and move around this site, so we can tell which adverts bring restaurant owners here. Set on this site only, and only if you press Accept. Never set on a restaurant's ordering page. | Up to 2 years |
| _fbp, _fbc | Cookie, advertising | Meta Pixel. Tells us when an advert on Facebook or Instagram led to a signup, and lets us show our adverts to people who visited this site. Set on this site only, and only if you press Accept. Never set on a restaurant's ordering page. | Up to 3 months |
3. Turning them off
Your browser can block or clear all of these. Blocking the essential ones will sign you out and empty your cart; blocking the analytics value only means a restaurant counts your visits separately rather than together. To change an answer you already gave, use the Cookie choices link in the footer - on this site and on a restaurant's ordering page alike. It clears the answer and asks again on the spot, and declining stops the advertising cookies loading from that moment on.
We honour Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends that signal, the answer on this site is already no: the advertising cookies above do not load, and they stay off unless you deliberately press Accept on the notice, which says plainly that your browser had already declined. Nothing on a restaurant's ordering page is ever shared for advertising, whatever your browser sends.
