Partner Programme Terms

What a referral earns, when it is paid, what does not count, and what ends the arrangement.

EZ Orders · Last updated

1. What you earn

30% of the revenue EZ Orders earns from a restaurant you referred, for 24 months from the day that restaurant creates its account.

Our revenue from a restaurant means what we actually collect from or through them. On our free plan that is the disclosed service fee added to their customers' orders. On a paid plan it is their monthly subscription. If we later sell them anything else, that counts too. Your share is calculated on each of these separately and shown to you line by line in your partner dashboard.

It is not a share of the restaurant's own sales, and no part of your commission is taken from the restaurant. Referring somebody costs them nothing and changes nothing about what they pay.

There is no cap, no tier and no minimum volume. A single referral earns at the same rate as a hundred.

2. The 24 months

The period runs for 24 months from the moment the restaurant's account is created, and then stops. It does not step down, it does not renew, and it is not extended by the restaurant pausing or restarting. Revenue we earn after the period ends earns you nothing.

Your dashboard shows the days remaining on every referral you hold.

3. What counts as a referral, and what does not

A referral is recorded when somebody follows your link and then creates a new restaurant account. The link sets a marker in their browser that lasts 90 days, so the gap between them following it and signing up does not need to be the same visit.

These do not count, and the reasons are structural rather than discretionary:

  • A restaurant that already had an EZ Orders account. A link only attaches to an account being created for the first time, which is what stops two partners claiming the same customer.
  • A restaurant already referred by somebody else. The first referral recorded is the one that stands, permanently. We do not reassign a referral on request, from either party.
  • Your own restaurant, or one whose account uses your partner email address.
  • A signup that reaches us without your link. We cannot attribute a referral after the fact from a description of who introduced whom.

If you are about to make an introduction that matters, send the link first and have them use it. A referral that was not recorded at signup cannot be added later.

4. The $100 the restaurant gets

A restaurant that signs up through a partner link receives $100 from us once it has been trading for a month. That money goes to the restaurant, not to you, and it is in addition to your commission rather than deducted from it.

It becomes payable 30 days after signup, provided the restaurant has opened for orders and taken at least one paid order. A restaurant that never opens, or opens and never trades, does not receive it.

5. When and how you are paid

  1. 1.A calendar month's revenue from a referred restaurant is totalled after that month ends.
  2. 2.Your share of it is held for 30 days. This is the window in which a customer can obtain a refund or their bank can reverse a payment, and it is why we do not pay first and ask for money back later.
  3. 3.After the hold, the amount is added to your available balance.
  4. 4.Once your available balance reaches $50, it is transferred automatically. You can lower that threshold in your settings.

Payment is made by transfer to a Stripe account you connect from your dashboard. Stripe collects your bank details and pays out to your bank on its own schedule; we never see or store your bank details. Until you have connected a payout account, your earnings continue to accrue and simply cannot be sent.

Amounts are in US dollars.

6. Reversals and adjustments

If revenue we counted turns out not to be ours - a refund, a chargeback, a payment reversed by a bank - the commission on it may be reversed. A reversed line stays visible on your statement with the reason on it, so nothing disappears without an explanation.

We do not reverse a line that has already been paid to you. Where money has already been transferred and the underlying revenue reverses, we offset it against future earnings rather than asking for the payment back.

7. How you may promote it

Please do:

  • Tell restaurants you know, in person, by message, by email to people who know you, and on your own channels.
  • Use the wording we provide in your dashboard, or your own, as long as it is accurate.
  • Print your link or QR code on your own materials.

Please do not:

  • Bid on our brand name, or variations of it, in paid search.
  • Send unsolicited bulk email or messages. A spam complaint against a link on our domain affects every restaurant whose order receipts share it.
  • Represent yourself as EZ Orders, or as employed by or speaking for us.
  • Promise anything we do not offer - in particular any pricing, feature or timeline that is not on our own pages.
  • Use paid advertising that lands directly on our pages without telling us first.
  • Post your link on coupon, cashback or discount-code sites.

Breaking these is the one thing that will end an account rather than earn a conversation about it, because the damage lands on restaurants who never agreed to anything.

8. Suspension and closing an account

We may pause a partner account where we believe section 7 has been broken, where referrals appear not to be genuine, or where we are required to. A paused account keeps every commission it has already earned; what stops is new referrals attaching and payouts going out, and we will tell you why.

You may close your account at any time by asking us. Commission already earned and off hold is paid; referrals stop earning from the date of closure.

We may change the rate or the length of the period for referrals made in future, with notice. A change never re-rates a referral you have already made: each one keeps the terms it was made under, and your dashboard shows what those are.

9. Tax

You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent or partner of ours in the legal sense, and nothing here creates a joint venture. You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.

Where we are required to report payments made to you, we will. Stripe collects the details needed for that when you connect your payout account, so completing that step is not optional if you want to be paid.

10. The rest

This programme is offered alongside our ordinary terms of service, which also apply to your use of the site and the partner dashboard. Where the two disagree about the partner programme specifically, this document is the one that governs.

We are not liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for anything connected with this programme is limited to the commission actually owed to you at the time.
